The Kitsap Cabinet Shop:
Our Story & Process
Our Bainbridge Island Woodworking Standards
Great spaces are built on a foundation of trust, clear communication, and localized expertise. For over a decade, our local woodworking shop has been deeply rooted in the community, evolving from a solo craftsmanship passion into a premier trade partner for residential projects across Kitsap County.
A Decade of Local Craftsmanship: Established originally under local roots, Bainbridge Island Woodworks has grown to become a trusted, family-operated fixture in the regional building community.
Transparent Project Management: We eliminate the guesswork and stress of residential remodeling by providing homeowners, architects, and builders with clear, responsive communication and transparent estimating from day one.
Post-Installation Support: We stand behind our craftsmanship. Every custom build includes 1-year warranty coverage for hardware components like hinges and drawer slides to ensure lasting functionality.
Our Custom Cabinetry & Cabinet Refacing Services
Based in our local Kitsap County shop, we design, build, finish, and install custom cabinetry, architectural woodwork, and expert cabinet refacing using premium materials. Serving Kingston, Bainbridge Island, Jefferson County, and the Greater Puget Sound, we utilize precision CNC fabrication to craft high-end kitchen cabinetry, bathroom vanities, built-ins, media centers, and custom structural alterations.
Meet Anthony: Custom Cabinet Maker & Designer
I’ve spent my entire life in the building trades — always learning, always refining, and always pushing my craft forward. Over the years, that dedication has shaped a clear purpose: to use my experience, curiosity, and attention to detail to build exceptional projects that stand the test of time.
In 2013, I launched my first woodworking business on Bainbridge Island under the name Essay In Wood. By 2017, the business had grown into something bigger, more defined, and more rooted in the community — and Bainbridge Island Woodworks was born. Next year marks our 10th anniversary under that name, a milestone I’m incredibly proud of.
This shop is a family effort. My wife Julie also works in the business as our Ambassador, and our shop dogs Marco and Otrera supervise with great enthusiasm. Together, we create custom cabinetry and fine woodworking rooted in craftsmanship, detail, and pride.
